First Aid For KIDS

FIRST AID FOR KIDS: 👦 Nose bleeding in children is a scary sight for parents. Especially in summers, nasal cavity gets dry leading to nose picking in kids, resulting in nose bleeds. ------- In this post, am going to discuss what first aid should be done by parents/ teachers when a kid gets nose bleed. ------ 1️⃣ Firstly, the caregiver should RELAX. there's no need to panic on seeing a nose bleed 2️⃣Make the child sit upright and make the Head and body to lean SLIGHTLY FORWARD- by doing this you are preventing the blood getting down the throat. 3️⃣Use your thumb and index finger to pinch the SOFT PART of the nose👃 ( just below the bony part) continuously for TEN MINUTES 🔟 🕙 Older children can be asked to pinch the nose by themselves 4️⃣ask the child to breathe through the MOUTH. 5️⃣if an ice pack❄️ is available nearby, it can be applied over the bridge of the nose- by doing this, you are decreasing the blood supply. ******* Some DON'T s while dealing with nose bleed 🙅‍♀️Don't make the child lay flat 🙅‍♀️Don't put the head in between legs 🙅‍♀️Child should not blow the nose or rub his nose 🙅‍♀️After the bleed is over, the child should not strain or lift heavy weights --------- Even if it's your child's first nasal bleed ,always get evaluated by a doctor and don't use any OTC nasal sprays without dr's advice. #firstaid #firstaidforkids #parentingtips #parentsawareness #pediatrics

In this post let me share a few basic essentials in a first aid box at home, especially for kids. 1️⃣ Have a box that will hold all the things at one place. 2️⃣ Always check the expiry date of the medicines periodically and replace. 3️⃣Keep a list of emergency numbers in the box like your doctor's number/ hospital's number 4️⃣it's important to customise the first aid kit knowing the medical history of every family member. I frequently get to meet ppl from the bank who talk about various loans, insurance schemes , investment etc. Yesterday at my clinic a woman from POST OFFICE📮 met me and briefed about a plan called 'SELVAMAGAL SEMIPPU THITTAM'- A PLAN EXCLUSIVELY BENEFITTING GIRL CHILDREN. I kinda liked the plan so thought of sharing a few salient points alone here. ---------------+++++++ 1️⃣WHATS THIS SCHEME? it's an adaptation of central govt scheme called SUGANYA SAMRIDHI YOJANA to benefit girl children 2️⃣WHO CAN ENROL IN THIS SCHEME? Parents with girl children ( max 2 girls from one family can be enrolled ) 3️⃣AGE LIMIT FOR ENROLMENT? right from birth of a girl child to 10 yrs of age. 4️⃣WHERE CAN WE START THIS SCHEME ? all post offices and reputed banks. 5️⃣HOW DOES THIS SCHEME OPERATE? We have to enrol in this scheme by paying a minimum amount of 1000 Rs per year. We have to pay the amount for 15 years. Full maturity of the scheme occurs at 21 years only when we can get the entire deposited amount plus interest. 👨‍🎓👰in case if we wish to take the money priorly for education/ marriage of the girl, 50% can be withdrawn at 18years. 6️⃣INTEREST RATE ? Currently 8.4% ( changes every financial year) 7️⃣HOW MUCH TO PAY ? we can pay amount as per our convenience. Minimum of 1000rs per year to maximum of 1.5 laks per year.
